Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread fame in the early 21st century. Swift was a fan of the music scene from a very early stage of her life. Swift swiftly rose through to the top of the ladder, beginning by playing roles in the theater for children and then singing in front of an audience of thousands. In the moment that Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match when she was 11, she was already composing songs. In the following year she picked up the guitar. Swift sought inspiration from singers of country music like Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to come up with original songs that expressed the apathy she felt at the age of thirteen. Swift was forced to move from Pennsylvania with her parents into Hendersonville, Tennessee after she was 13 years old to dedicate her time to courting artists from the genre of country music in Nashville.
